These beautiful gardens surround an impressive house (not open to the public), attributed to Repton.
Hoveton Hall is very fortunate in having so much water in one of England's driest counties.
A profusion of aquatic plants flourish beside the streams, dykes and lakes and the Hall looks particularly grand from the Lakeside Walk.
There are several woodland walks and in the spring rhododendrons, azaleas, primulas, enormous gunneras and new plantings of magnolias and camellias provide a spectacular display.
Hoveton Hall also has walled herbaceous gardens and in June the peonies are magnificent.
The unusual Spider Garden has a fascinating spider's-web gate, created by Eric Stevens.
The gardens are also noted for their splendid walled vegetable gardens.
The kitchen garden shelters some fine old fruit trees and there are masses of vegetables.
A superb collection of home-propagated plants are on sale.
