This Jacobean manor house (open by prior appointment only) is surrounded by delightful gardens and a fine park.
The house, built in around 1620, is now the home of the Williams family. On the north side of the building is a wide lawn enclosed by mixed herbaceous borders.
Smaller gardens are surrounded by beautifully clipped hedges. The park has some magnificent old trees including an avenue of ancient lime trees and a venerable oak, with a 30 foot trunk, said to be over 1,000 years old.
The park is backed by 100 acres of woodland and visitors can enjoy several walks here.
In the spring the profusion of rhododendrons and azaleas, underplanted with bluebells and lilies-of-the-valley, create a spectacular display of colour.
