Merriments is a delightful 4 acre garden set amid the gently sloping farmland of the Weald.
Much of Merriments is gardened naturally, only using plants suited for naturalising in the prevailing conditions.
The garden is attached to the nursery garden run by the Buchele family and here the visitor can see many of the plants for sale beautifully laid out in beds.
These include the trees and shrubs and the perennials the nursery specializes in such as geraniums, lobelias, sages, violas, penstemons and euphorbias.
The deep curved borders are colour themed and there are many rare plants.
From spring to autumn the rich mix of trees, shrubs, perennials and grasses provides interest and careful colour combinations.
Features include an entrance garden set out in the style of Monet's 'Grande Allee' at Giverny in France, a foliage border, increased woodland and a rock and scree garden.
