Pashley Manor Gardens

Pashley Manor Gardens are set in a well-wooded park with superb views over the surrounding countryside.

The Grade I listed, timber-framed manor house was built in around 1550 and enlarged in 1720. The gardens are of great age and are laid out in the English romantic style.

In the last 20 years the owners, Mr and Mrs James Sellick, have worked with the renowned landscape architect, Antony du Gard Pasley, to improve the largely Victorian garden.

Five new beds have been laid out in front of the Queen Ann facade of the manor house's south front. The planting is in soft pinks and blues with peonies, viburnums, caryopteris, ceratostigmas and shrub roses.

In great contrast to these subtle beds is the breathtaking new golden garden. This descends to the woods and streams which are stunning in the spring when the spectacular colours of rhododendrons, azaleas and maples are reflected in the water.

Elsewhere in the garden are ponds, waterfalls and a moat and the sound of water and birdsong is always in the air.

Regular flower festivals and plant fairs are held at Pashley Manor Gardens.
