Fort Grey Shipwreck Museum  Rocquaine Coast Road, St Peters
Fort Grey stands on Guernsey's rocky west coast near the infamous Hanois reefs, site of many historic shipwrecks. The museum is housed in a 1804 small martello tower, known locally as the 'Cup and Saucer' because of its shape. Restored in 1976 it now tells the story of Guernsey's numerous shipwrecks, with salvaged artefacts and illustrations.

La Valette German Underground Museum   Opposite Bathing Pool, St Peter Port
This exhibition illustrates Guernsey's military history, including World War I, the German Occupation of 1940 - 45 and the island's Militia.  Housed in a complex of air-conditioned tunnels, built by the Germans as a fuel storage facility for U-Boats, the museum contains military and occupation memorabilia collected by Paul and Peter Balshaw.

Guernsey Folk Museum  Saumarez Park, Castel

The National Trust of Guernsey's Folk Museum is in the former stable buildings of Saumarez Park. Based on the late Advocate W H Langlois' collection of farm implements, the museum has a collection of Victoriana, furniture, china, household equipment and costume set out in a series of furnished rooms.  The 'living museum' gives you the chance to see what life was like on Guernsey.  The courtyard buildings house farm implements, horse-drawn vehicles and examples of the stone mason's skill.  Exhibitions, shop, tea room and children's playground.

German Occupation Museum  Le Houards, Forest
Opened in 1966, this museum provides insight into life in Guernsey during the German Ocupation (1940 - 1945).  Features include the Military Room, Equipment Room, Civilian Room, Prison, Occupation Kitchen and a full-size Occupation street scene.  With the displays and dioramas, audio-visual technology is used to convey the experiences of the islanders during the occupation.

Guernsey Museum and Art Gallery   Candie Gardens, St Peter Port
 Opened in 1978, the Guernsey Museum and Art Gallery stands in Candie Gardens.  The design was based on the Victorian bandstand that once stood here.  The 'Story of Guernsey' illustrates the story of the island from Neolithic times through to the modern technical revolution. Sections on the geology, flora and fauna of the Guernsey.  The Rona Cole Gallery displays work from the Art Collection and also houses temporary exhibitions by local and visiting artists. Brooklands Farm Implement Museum   Kings Mill, Castel
Situated on a working arable farm, this private museum exhibits agricultural implements used in Guernsey for the last 100 years.  (The farm itself is not open to the public).

The Doll's House Collection  Sausmarez Manor, St Martins

This museum, set in Sausmarez Manor, is the third largest dedicated collection of doll's houses in Britain.  The collection as items dating from 1830 to the present day and there is also a comprehensive doll's house shop.  Open Apr-Oct. Tel:  01481 236538 / 235904.  Admission Fee

 
Telephone Museum  Hermes, La Planque, Cobo Road, Castel
Standing near Saumarez Park, this museum illustrates the development of telephones, switchboards and exchange machinery used on the island from 1898, when the first exchanges opened, to the equipment used by the current 44,000 subscribers.  Staffed by volunteers, many of the exhibts are in working order and a 'hands on' approach is encouraged.
