Dolgellau tourist information
In the south of the beautiful Snowdonia National Park sits the attractive stone-built market town of Dolgellau.
With many charming cottages, historic buildings, cafes, restaurants and pubs, Dolgellau is a great place to spend some time. It also has a wonderful ruined church, the 12th century Cymer Abbey. Ty Siamas, the National Centre for Welsh Folk Music is located in the heart of the town.
Dominated by the stunning Welsh hills and the craggy mountain of Cadair Idris, the area is ideal for exploring the great outdoors, and is popular for walking, climbing and wildlife watching. Going north into the wild scenery finds Coed y Brenin Forest Visitor centre, with a huge range of activities such as mountain bike trails, play areas and Go Ape high rope adventure.
