The village of Harlech is well known for its impressive and well-preserved 13th century castle. Built on a rocky outcrop that was once on the sea edge, it dominates the surrounding lands from on high and today provides stunning views over the Cardigan Bay and to Snowdonia.
Many will have heard of the village through the song 'Men of Harlech', which has entered popular culture in Wales and beyond. It is thought to have been inspired by the siege of Harlech Castle in the 15th century - at seven years the longest in British history.
The village is set on some of the loveliest coastline in North Wales, with miles of flat sandy beach and amazing dunes. Just below the Castle is found the renowned Royal St David's Golf Club.
