Fareham is a market town to the east of Southampton with a port.

There are some Georgian buildings together with a 19th century Corn Exchange and Bishopswood, a 1800's thatched house.

Or travel a bit further to Lee on Solent.

There are some nice villages north on the A 32 along the Meon Valley, try Hambledon, B2130 east of the A32, where one of the first cricket matches was held, old relics in the pub.
