North HampshirePetersfield

Petersfield, the town was based originally on wealth from wool, then became an important coaching centre on the London to Portsmouth road.

In the Market Square is a statue of William III, market day is Wednesday.

The parish church in the town is worth a look.

Out and about, East Meon is a nice village with a Norman church and walks, south off A272 west of Petersfield, as is Exton, A272 west then south on the A32, and Meonstoke, on the A32 with walks along the River Meon. For a good view walk up Old Winchester Hill, east off the A32 opposite Exton, nature trails as well.
