Borehamwood,
to the south of the county,
between the M1 and M25.
The town is best known for its
strong association with the British film industry.
Many famous TV programmes are
filmed at the Elstree Studios (in the town centre) including
'Top of the Pops', 'Eastenders', 'Who wants to be a millionaire?'
and 'Big Brother'.
The studios are also used for
major films such as 'Star Wars' and 'Saving Private Ryan'.
The surrounding countryside provides plenty of opportunites
for walks and Aldenham Country Park is located 2 miles west
of the town.
Elstree is situated one mile
west of Borehamwood.
The small town is famous for
its links with the British film industry. Some of the
world's most famous films and TV programmes have been filmed
at the Elstree Studios in Borehamwood. Films include
the Star Wars series and Saving Private Ryan.
Elstree and Borehamwood are separate
towns but they are usually linked together with reference
to the film industry
The Aldenham Country Park, located
one mile from Elstree, provides a range of water sports.
