Broxbourne
lies at the far eastern side of the county between the A10
and the River Lee (or Lea) and the Lee Naviagation system.
The town is situated to the south
of Hoddesdon but the two towns have now almost become one.
The Monson Almshouses (97/99
High Street) are one of the main features of Broxbourne.
These red-brick buildings were built in 1728 and the nearby
two-storey Priest House dates from the 17th century.
At the Lee Valley Boat Centre
in Broxbourne narrowboats can be hired to cruise along the
Lee Navigation.
The popular family attraction,
Paradise Wildlife Park, is located just west of the town in
Broxbourne Wood, with a minibus service available from Broxbourne
station.
