Cheshunt lies
to the south-east of the county on the border with Essex.
The largely modern town has grown
up around a historic centre. A conservation area now
protects these ancient buildings including the Dewhurst Charity
School, dating from 1640, and nearby houses in Churchgate.
Lying just west of the River
Lee (or Lea) and Lee Valley Park, the town boasts a water
park providing a range of exhilarating water sports. Cheshunt
has a popular out of town shopping centre featuring one of
the largest Marks & Spencer in Hertfordshire.
