Chorleywood
lies in the south west corner
of Hertfordshire, on the border with Buckinghamshire.
This affluent commuter town has
excellent road and rail links, with the M25 running just a
mile south of the Chorleywood and the railway and Undergound
stations providing easy access to London.
As a residential town, Chorleywood
has a good selection of shops, restaurants and pubs, but the
locals are drawn to nearby Rickmansworth for its greater range
of facilities and to Watford for its excellent shopping centres
and lively nightlife.
Chorleywood is located in beautiful
countryside that offers plenty of opportunites for walking,
cycling and horse riding. Chorleywood Common (home
of the Chorleywood Golf Club) is a popular place for strolls.
Two miles south of the town (in
Buckinghamshire) lies the Chiltern Open Air Museum.
Set in 45 acres, this facinating museum allows visitors the
chance to walk around over 30 rescued historic buildings,
including barns, labourers cottages, a Toll House and a fully
furnished 1940's pre-fab.
