Nestled amidst stunning countryside, this award-winning late 18th century British pub is beautifully set in the heart of the ancient village of Corton Denham, on the Somerset/Dorset border. Bedrooms have views of the rolling countryside and are individually designed in calm, neutral colours.

All have contemporary bathrooms and Egyptian cotton linen. The Queens Arms has an on-site cinema room with themed film evenings, the hotel can also arrange for activities such as golf, horse riding and paragliding.

Just 3 miles from the historic town of Sherborne, guests can visit the town’s castles, Abbey and boutique shops. Also in the area is Dorset’s Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage site, which is just 45 minutes drive across the rolling Dorset Downs.

There is a free collection service from Sherborne Railway Station.

The rooms - 4 double and one twin - each have a style of their own. They offer supreme comfort with elegant furnishings and luxurious Egyptian cotton bed linen. Bathrooms are state-of-the-art, and all 5 rooms have breathtaking views of the rolling countryside.

Room one - a spacious twin room with rainstorm shower. Pretty 1920’s Heals beds and soft country cottage fabrics .

Room two – French antique walnut bed. Deep-fill cast iron bath for two. Sumptuous silk curtains and a chaise longue for lounging!

Room three – double room with sofa seating and fantastic twin headed deluge shower for two.

Room four - calming contemporary colours with chocolate leather bed and sink-in suede bean bags. Luxurious bathroom with shower over bath.

Room five – spectacular iron bed with a twist. Chaise longue for afternoon snoozing and invigorating shower over bath for wake-up time.

Getting To The The Queens Arms

By Car: From the A303: - Take the ‘Chapel Cross’ turn-off, signed for Sutton Montis, South Cadbury and Corton Denham. - Follow signs to South Cadbury. - Go through the village and continue for a further ¾ mile before taking a left turn up a hill s igned for Sherborne and Corton Denham. - The pub is at the end of the village on the right-hand side.
From the A30 (Sherborne): - Take the B3145, signed for Wincanton. - Follow this road for approx 1.5 miles before turning left at the red sign post to Corton Denham.

By Train: 2 hours from London Waterloo to Sherborne (3.5 miles) One hour 20 minutes London Paddington to Castle Cary (6 miles)

Area Information

An ideal base for walkers, riders and cyclists, footpaths and bridleways are extensive and varied and the village is situated close to the intersection of the Monarch and Macmillan Ways. Maps, wellies, and yummy picnics can be provided.
Other nearby attractions include: Wincanton racecourse; Yeovilton Air Museum; Haynes Motor Museum; Forde Abbey; East Lambrook Manor Gardens; and the National Trust properties of Stourhead, Montacute House and Tintinhull.

Please not that dogs can be accommodated, upon request and for an extra cost, in one of the Executive Double Rooms only. Dogs are permitted in the pub area but not in the restaurant. Please contact the property for more details.
