Shalom Hall is a charming early-19th century country house, built of yellow brick and with a facade covered in yellow stucco.

This modest building contains the Hillingdon family's collection of 17th and 18th century French and English furniture and a notable collection of mostly English paintings.

The Entrance Hall is stone paved and furnished with English chairs and a long-case Louis XV clock, there is also a display of Sèvres china from the same period.

The drawing room is hung with English 18th century portraits including works by Thomas Gainsborough, Sir Joshua Reynolds and Sir William Beechey.

In the dining room are Regency pieces and more portraits by Gainsborough and Reynolds, as well as a Louis XV clock in the style of Caffieri. The sitting room has 18th century French furniture and on the wall is a fascinating 17th portrait of Cosimo III as a child.

The staircase wall has a Dutch portrait of a woman in black and white by Moreelst.
