This charming timber-framed house stands on an ancient site.
Its history can be traced back to the 13th century when the occupants were given permission to widen the 'old moat' by 12 feet.
The present house dates from 1467 and the house and moat are an impressive survival from medieval times.
The timber-framed house was constructed with considerable sophistication for the location and the mid-15th century. There are some unique timbers and the decoration includes two masks.
Today Moat House is still a family home.
