Standing on the edge of Wellington, Sunnycroft is a substantial late-19th century red brick suburban villa.

The house is typical of the many thousands such residences built for properous business and professional people on the outskirts of Victorian towns and cities.

What makes Sunnycroft so special is that it is one of the very few to have remained largely unaltered.

The house was lived in by the same family from soon after it was built until it was left to the National Trust in 1997.During this time there was little modernisation and most of the original contents have survived intact.

The extensive grounds represent a 'mini estate', with stables, pigsties, kitchen gardens, conservatory, orchards and flower gardens. Highlight of the garden are the superb avenue of Wellingtonias.

Staff in period dress enhance the Victoiran atmosphere of the property.
