Broadstairs, around from Margate, yet a quiet resort famous for its Charles Dickens associations, his house called "Bleak House" after the book, is now a museum, and Dickens House was the fictional home of Betsy Trotwood in David Copperfield. There is a Dickens Festival every June.
Gardens, beaches, harbour, and clifftop walks make this a relaxed holiday resort.
