Lamberhurst,
on the A21 on the western edge of Kent.
Tthis pleasant town
was an arms making town based on charcoal from the Wealden
oaks, then coal came along and the business moved to Birmingham.
It was also a real smugglers area, but now is known for the
rather more sedate business of fruit and wine produced locally.
Also pleasant walking country once away from the main road,
with small towns and villages around it.
