Tenterden
|
|
| Tenterden,
with its picture book High Street with Wealden weatherboarding,
is a busy small town with 17th & 18th century cottages.
It was the home of Britain's first light railway in 1872, now
restored.
The church, St Mildred's dates from 15th century, and dominates
the town being visible for miles.
Out and about, there are lots to visit in the small villages
around the town, such as Cranbrook,
an Elizabethan Old Cloth Hall, a church and a working
windmill.
Tourist Information Centre in the town.
