Tunbridge Wells, is Royal Tunbridge Wells, now part of commuter land, it was formally a spa town and the old buildings that remain reflect this heritage, especially in the Pantilles where the spring still exists. The water was discovered by Lord North in 1606.
Otherwise the town has all the modern amenities, a large number of shops, cinema, hotels, etc with some nice countryside around it reflected in the town's pleasant Common.
