Clitheroe
|
|
| Clitheroe, an old industrial market town
based on the cotton industry, set in the River Ribble valley. The Norman castle shows the towns age, and Pendle Hill
high above the town to the east reflects its past, here was the trial of women for the
crime of witchcraft, they were executed. You can walk over the hill through the paths.
The town has a well-known
Wednesday evening livestock market.
