Melton Mowbray, this town originated the stilton cheese, pork pies, and the Quorn all on its own !.

The town is famous for the home of hunting for as three packs are based here.

Melton Carnegie Museum, Thorpe End, LE13 1RB, explores the history of the environment of the Borough of Melton, including the famous Vale of Belvoir. Exhibits include fine sporting paintings, local crafts, archaeology, geology and even a two headed calf! Tel: 01664 69946
Open: Mon.–Sat. 10–5, Sun. (Easter –Sept. only) 2-5, most Bank Holidays 10–5, except Good Friday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Open by arrangement at other times.
      
St Mary's Church, impressive with some fine monuments.

Bottesford, on the A52, has a weird church filled with tombs, and the church at Gaddesbury, off B674 from A607 south may be worth a look.
