North LincolnshireAlford

Alford, a small town with some thatched houses, famous for it's Oxley's Mill windmill, the last of the towns mills, there were four in 1909.

The town has a craft market on Friday in the summer and hosts an August Festival.

Oxley's Mill, East Street, the last of the towns commercial windmills, 57 ft high with 5 sails, still produces flour.
 
Alford Manor House Museum,LN13 9HT, thatched building, shows local life with some recreated rooms and shops, Admission Charge  Open: Easter - Oct Closed until 2006 for restoration work Tel: 01507 463073
