No longer an exhibition space - used by the Friends of the Heritage Museum in Russia to organise exhibitions at venues in the UK.
The Hermitage Rooms were opened to the public in 2001 and are in the restored South Building of Somerset House.
Five furnished rooms have changing exhibitions from the vast State Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg. The splendour of the former Winter Palace has been recreated in miniature at Somerset House using smoked-glass chandeliers, rich curtaining and marquetry floors.
The rooms are very small, and best seen when the exhibition is of particular interest. Previous exhibitions have included 'Treasures of Catherine the Great' and 'French Drawings and Paintings: Poussin to Picasso'.
