This cultural centre relates
the fight for female equality.
Housed in a converted Victorian
bath-house in Whitechapel, East London, the centre contains
a library and an exhibition. Items on display include
the centre's collection of suffragette memorabilia and banners,
together with books, magazines and badges produced over the
years of the women's movement, many of these were rescued
from a university basement in 2002.
The centre also arranges special
events and the Wash Houses Café is open throughout the day.
