Catapulted into fame since the publication of the Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown in 2003, Roslin will now forever be best known for the Rosslyn Chapel and its links to the myth of the Holy Grail.
Myths aside, this pleasant village also has its own ruined castle and scenic surroundings that were lauded by the notable Scottish poet Sir Walter Scott in the early 19th century.
Roslin has also been world-famous once before. In the 1990s, scientists from the Roslin Institute made genetic history by creating Dolly the sheep, the world's first cloned animal.
