historic market town has one of the largest market squares
in England. Markets are held here six days a week.
The
town boasts several old coaching inns which reveal its historical
importance as a resting place for travellers. One of
the most notable visitors to Daventry was Charles I, who spent
several days here before the Battle of Naseby in 1645.

Hill, Admirals Way, east of Daventry. one
of the largest Iron Age hill forts in England and the view from
Borough Hill is the best in the region. However, the summit
has television and telecommunication masts. 150 acres of
grassland Borough Hill - ideal for walks and picnics.

Dairy Farm Centre, Upper
Stowe, Near Weedon, NN7 4SH, A5 south east of Daventry, this
farm centre has pigs, donkeys, ducks and peacocks. In
addition to the farm shop there are also craft workshops, a
wool collection, classic clothes and antiques. The nearby Grand
Union Canal also has towpath walks. Open: daily 10:00-17:30
