MansfieldMansfield

This bustling town was first given permission to hold a market in 1227.  Today the Mansfield market is still held six days a week in its vibrant market place at the heart of the town.

Mansfield was once famous for the production of footwear, hosiery, net curtains and doilies.  Today it is an important shopping centre, with department stores and major retailers.

The Old Town area boasts smaller specialist shops and boutiques. The town also has two large retail parks hosting most well-known high street names.

White Lion Yard, tucked away off the busy streets, is home to caves and buildings that have been in use since the early 18th century (one dates back at nearby at Langwith to Tudor times).

Other attractions include the Mansfield Museum & Art Gallery and the Whaley Thorns Heritage Centre at nearby Langwith.

Mansfield is surrounded by peaceful rural locations including world-famous Sherwood Forest - visit Edwinstowe for the Sherwood Forest attractions
