Masham, a small
town based on sheep and brewing, a gateway to the Yorkshire
Dales, being within Wensleydale. The name is pronounced Massam.
There is an annual
sheep fair once a year at the end of September, but most come
for the breweries with their visitor centres and tastings.
There are Georgian
buildings around the large market square.

Visitor Centre, see the beer being made, there has been
a brewery here since 1875, some steep steps and narrow passages,
then try the product, day and evening tours. Open: Apr-Oct,
