Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough,
a major town, situated on the south bank of the River Tees.
It has a long industrial heritage with the coal and iron industries
using the river to transport materials, as well as the shipyards
on the river. The factories and processing plants are still
there today.
As well
as shopping centres and all the facilities you would expect
with a population of about 200,000, there is the Little Theatre,
an Art Gallery, and a multiplex cinema at Teeside Park.
Famous
as the birth place of Captain Cook, but who lived his youth
at Great Ayton, before moving to Whitby
to serve his sea apprenticeship.
