South OxfordshireDorchester on Thames

Dorchester on Thames, not to be confused with Dorchester in Dorset, is only a small village, next to the River Thames, some nice shops and walks along the river with a lock.

It has some history, being a Roman station and a Saxon cathedral town.

Dorchester Abbey, preserved with 12th century nave and spiral staircase in the tower, museum, exhibits on the history of the area from early times, and one window is a memorial to Winston Churchill, shop, etc.
