Blair Atholl tourist information

Blair Atholl is a picturesque village of stone-built cottages, forming part of the estate of the huge and magnificent Blair Castle.

This splendid, pure white castle is in an idyllic setting nestled amongst wooded hills with Highland hills beyond. The oldest parts date back to the 13th century, and themed tours take visitors through the many sumptuously decorated rooms.

Back in Blair Atholl, the old school building now houses the Atholl Country Life Museum, a wonderful treasure trove of exhibits from local life, particularly the 19th and early 20th centuries.

To the west of Blair Atholl are two contrasting attractions in Bruar. The House of Bruar is an extremely popular retail development specialising in traditional Scottish products such as tweed, cashmere and wool clothing, and fine food and drink. It is found next to the beautiful Falls of Bruar, a cascading waterfall overtopped by attractive 18th century stone bridges.
