Blairgowrie tourist information

The traditional town of Blairgowrie is set on the rushing River Ericht, known for its excellent salmon and trout fishing. There are lovely walks along the river, which has some beautiful scenery and waterfalls

Blairgowrie has a 19th century feel, and became famous for growing Scottish raspberries, an industry which still dominates the area.

The town is perhaps best known today for being the gateway to Glenshee, one of the most beautiful and dramatic landscapes in Scotland, and now the skiing capital of the UK. The A93 road from Blairgowrie to Braemar in Aberdeenshire takes you through the heart of this stunning valley to the Cairngorm Mountains, and is easily enjoyed by car, on foot, bike, ski or skiboard, depending on the season.
