Welcome to Renfrewshire ...
Located just to the West of Glasgow but still maintaining its own unique character, Renfrewshire has a number of characterful and historic towns.
Famed for its distinctive ornately patterned cloths, Paisley is a handsome town with some impressive buildings such as the imposing town hall and abbey. Renfrew is also an interesting and attractive place to visit, and its historic heart now vies for attention with the nearby Braehead complex, an enormous retail and entertainment site on the south bank of the river Clyde.
Further south the area has some lovely countryside with rolling hills and moorland offering spectacular views, perfect for a peaceful getaway from the big city. Particularly scenic are the country parks of Gleniffer Braes near Paisley, Castle Semple Loch and the RSPB nature reserve at Lochwinnoch.
