The Isle of Raasay is the smaller neighbour of Skye, lying to the east next to the mainland and reached by a short ferry trip from Sconser. There are shops and amenities in the main village of Inverarish.
It is more sparely populated and less visited than Skye, giving it an even more remote and quiet atmosphere, perfect for those that want to get away from it all.
With stunning scenery and far-reaching views of the magnificent coastline, Raasay is an ideal place for walking. The rocky landscape is dominated by the mountain of Dun Caan, with its distinctive flat-topped summit providing a panorama over the sea to the Outer Hebrides. Visitors may see local wildlife such as golden eagles, otters, seal, dolphins and whale.
