Lochinver is a working fishing port, on the far North West coast of Scotland, in the shadow of the impressive rugged peak of Suilven mountain. It has a tourist information centre.
Attractions in the town include the Highland Stoneware Limited pottery, where you can see local hand-decorated ceramics being made.
Around the coast is the Stoer peninsula, with spectacular scenery, steep cliffs and sandy beaches. This is a fantastic place for walking and taking in the beautiful views. Achmelvich has one of the best sandy beaches in Scotland. The Ru Stoer lighthouse and the rock formation of the Old Man of Stoer (not to confused with Old Man of Storr on Skye) are also worth seeing.
