The small and scenic island of Bressay is just a short ferry ride from the capital Lerwick on the nearby Mainland.
Less populated than its larger neighbour, Bressay is the ideal place for walking and enjoying the beautiful coastal landscapes, wildlife, and peace and quiet that is one of the main attractions of a visit to the Shetland islands.
The southern and western coastline is particularly spectacular with wonderful sheer cliffs, arches and sea stacks such as the wonderful Giant's Leg formation. Also to the south is the fantastic rocky island of Noss, a National Nature Reserve home to thousands of gannets, guillemots and kittiwakes.
Close to the ferry port is the Bressay Heritage Centre with an exhibition on the history of the island and information about things to see and do.
