The attractive isle of Whalsay is just off the coast of the Shetland Mainland, surrounded by smaller islands and rocks.
Whalsay is home to a thriving island fishing community, centred on the busy harbour of Symbister.
Its heritage is strongly linked with the fishing trade, and now supports a prosperous deep-sea trawling industry. The Hanseatic booth is a historic stone warehouse overlooking the port which now houses a small exhibition on the island's history.
