The small and attractive town of Maybole has much to recommend it, particularly the fine and historic architecture in the town and surrounding area.
Maybole castle, the Collegiate Church and the imposing town hall are just some of many fine buildings of interest within the town itself, while nearby lies the ruined 13th century Crossraguel Abbey and the striking remains of the castles of Dunure and Dalquharran.
However the jewel of this part of Ayrshire is undoubtedly the beautiful Culzean Castle. This magnificent 18th century mansion is set in extensive grounds in a superb coastal location overlooking the Firth of Clyde with views over to the Isle of Arran.
