Aberfoyle tourist information

Set within the beautiful Trossachs region, the pretty village of Aberfoyle lies between Loch Lomond, Loch Katrine, Loch Venacher and the Lake of Menteith.

The village of Aberfoyle is a perfect place from which to explore this scenic area of high peaks and peaceful lakes, now part of the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. To the west is the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, which offers walking trails around some of the most stunning scenery. Start at the David Marshall Lodge Visitor Centre, where there is also a 'Go Ape' adventure centre for even more thrills on the zip wires and ropes.

Visitors should not miss a trip to the wonderful Loch Katrine, immortalised by Sir Walter Scott in his famous poem Lady of the Lake in 1810. The Loch Katrine experience offer touring cruises of this idyllic lake in vessels named after the poet and his creation.
