The quaint and pretty village of Killin is found next to the Falls of Dochart, a beautiful array of waterfalls straddled by a lovely old stone bridge.
Even without the spectacular waterfalls, Killin would be an attractive place to visit, set within the Breadalbane hills with their rugged peaks as a wonderful backdrop. The village has shops and cafes catering for visitors and outdoor enthusiasts, and is an ideal centre for both to get the best out of this scenic region.
The Breadalbane Folklore Centre is housed within a watermill built to harness the power of the rushing water of the River Dochart. The waterwheel is still in operation today, and its mechanism can be seen within the museum, along with exhibits on local life.
