The new town of Cwmbran stands in striking contrast to some of the historic centres of South Wales, being largely built in the 1950s.
The town has a huge range of shops and amenities, and with the biggest undercover shopping centre in Wales it's great for a spot of retail therapy on a rainy day in the valleys (of which Wales admittedly has its fair share).
Cwmbran ia a large town that has a great range of things to see and do for all ages, including all sorts of leisure activities and an excellent arts centre.
And it's not all modern. Llanyrafon Mill is thought to date from the 18th century but there are records of a water mill here for many hundreds of years. Greenmeadow Community Farm was a working farm for 250 years and is now a great place for children to get close to animals and learn about rural life.
