Llantwit Major is a quaint small town set on the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, very popular with tourists.
In the town's centre are attractive stone cottages, characterful winding streets and some great pubs and restaurants, which makes it a good base for exploring the beautiful coastal scenery.
Llantwit beach is just a short walk from the town, with its breathtaking clifftop views and amazing rock formations. Take a walk along the coast path to see the sheer rock faces stacked up like books, hidden coves and caves.
Travelling west along the cliffs is the amazing 12th century St Donats castle, once owned by the American tycoon William Randolph Hearst and now a private college and home to the St Donats Arts Centre. Further round the headland are Nash Point lighthouse and more great beaches.
The coastline is the main attraction here, so time for some long walks and perhaps a visit to Barry.
