Historic Holt is set amid beautiful Dee valley countryside, and between the large towns of Chester and Wrexham.
The town is located right on the border, linked to the English village of Farndon by a beautiful 14th century stone bridge across the River Dee.
The town has wide streets and attractive old buildings, centred on the medieval market cross. There is also a ruined 13th century castle that played a vital part in the story of the medieval borderlands conflicts and the English civil war.
