What's New
South W.SussexGatwick

Gatwick, one of the largest airports in the UK, with two terminals, North Terminal and South Terminal, linked by Transit, a monorail system. South Terminal is the older of the two.

International and internal flight depart from this airport, both charter flights and scheduled flights.

The size of the airport means lots of people almost 24 hours a day, so leave plenty of time.

Shops are at both terminals, both before and after you pass through passport control and security. Passing through security can take a long time at certain times of the day.

If you are arriving at Gatwick it can take over an hour to go through customs, passport control and collect your bags.

Gatwick is non-smoking except in designated areas.

There is also a viewing platform on the roof you can visit to watch the aircraft, with an impressively placed aircraft on the roof.

Passenger Information will help you if have any problems, and there are designated meeting places if you are meeting people.

If you are not checking in all your luggage stay with it, do not leave unattended as this may cause a security problem.

Arriving and Departing

Make sure you know which terminal you are going from or arriving at.

Trains, the train station is at South Terminal, and has 24 hour trains direct to Victoria as well as slower, and cheaper local stopping trains. The direct trains to Victoria have extra space for luggage.

Buses, there are buses between the terminals and to Victoria as well as other destinations. Slower but cheaper. The buses from Victoria stop at both terminals.

Taxis, taxis are available from the taxi ranks, do not accept any offers from people in the terminal building, these operate unlicensed taxis are are breaking the law. A taxi to London is expensive, and slower, than the train.

Car Parks, there are short and long term car parks at Gatwick. If you are picking up or dropping off people this is allowed in the designated areas near the terminal, we suggest that someone always stays with the car if you do this.
